Wizz Air Celebrates 8 Million Passengers at Romania’s Iasi Airport
Wizz Air has reached a milestone, having transported over 8 million passengers to and from Iasi, Romania.
The airline started operations at Iasi International Airport in December 2014 and established a base there in July 2016.
Since then, Wizz Air has grown steadily, becoming a key player in the local aviation scene.

To mark this special occasion, the 8-millionth passenger, who flew from Milan Bergamo to Iasi on July 22, was greeted on the airport apron and gifted a 100 EUR voucher for future Wizz Air flights.

Wizz Air is the largest operator at Iasi Airport, managing five aircraft. The carrier accounts for about 70% of the airport’s total traffic. With 21 direct destinations, the airline connects the region to major European cities.
